Anne DietrichAnne Dietrich, a graduated Culture and Dance Educationalist, has dedicated her life to the art of Dance from a very tender age.
Born in the city of Meissen in 1981, besides the study of the contemporary European dance and Classical Ballet her training in the European Music and acting has contributed to her artistic assets since her childhood. She has been tuning these skills by taking lessons in piano, classical singing, music theory and theater in Germany and at the University of Ulster/Northern Ireland in the field of Theatre Studies (Street Theatre, Playback Theatre, Forum Theatre, etc.). Her interest in the Indian Culture and its art of Dance drove her to the rare Classical South Indian dance style - "Mohiniyattam". She has graduated and currently pursuing her Doctorate in "Mohiniyattam" under the guidance of her Guru Prof. Kalamandalam Leelamma from the artistically rich and famous academy Kerala Kalamandalam – Deemed University for Art and Culture in India. She is studying the art form from a scientific perspective on the theme of Indian dance and then compares the Indian and European dance and its teaching approaches.
Recently, she has obtained her diploma in dance education from the Remscheid Academyand works as a contemporary dancer in the "Remscheider Ensemble" under the artistical guidance of Dr. Ronit Land and is the Artistic Director of the prospect.dancecompany. Since 1991 she has been enthralling the audiences with her stage performances. She worked as an actress and dancer at the “Mittelsaechsisches Theater” in productions like "Hair", "The Bartered Bride" and "Merry Widow" and was a member of Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company / Northern Ireland. In musical productions like - "Vampire" at the Youth theatre Doebeln, "Singarella" in Belcanto Leipzig or "Fame" as a school project at the theaterMeissenshe has showed her mettle as a choreographer and a dance teacher. Tanzcosmos - a Multicultural, cross-country dance studio, has been started by her inLeipzig (Germany) and inZurich (Switzerland), through which she aims at imparting the knowledge of art, especially of the Indian Classical Dance styles. SRIJAN- Anne Dietrich has teamed up with Poonam Panchwagh from India and formed a dance company "SRIJAN". "SRIJAN" meaning "the Creation", is a unique blend of the Orient and Occident, walking along the path of a common ambition, daring different theme based productions through the medium of Indian Classical Dance. This ensemble aims at showing the dimensions and multiple facets of the Indian Classical Dance Styles - Mohiniyattam and Kathak. SRIJAN operates mainly in Switzerland and in Germany.
